Making headlines in the first quarter of 2017, AITC President and CEO, Gabriel Ruiz LTC (Ret.), was named the 2017 Small Business Person for the North Florida District.  The news was announced by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) North Florida District Office, which includes the top 43 counties of Florida covering Pensacola to Orlando and Jacksonville.

“Congratulations to LTC Ruiz on this recognition for his hard-work and dedication. This award is very competitive and our office received nominations from all over the northern part of the state. I look forward to presenting this award in May as we celebrate Small Business Week,” says Wilfredo J. Gonzalez, SBA District Director.

The North Florida District Office will present its business and lender recognition awards during the 2017 Small Business Week Celebration hosted by the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at the University of North Florida on May 4, 2017 in Jacksonville, Florida.   Ruiz will be honored at a private event hosted by the SBDC at the University of Central Florida (UCF), on May 16, 2017 at the Citrus Club in Orlando, Florida. 

“It is truly an honor to receive such a prestigious award.  I have appreciated the support that I have received through the mentoring and advisory support from the SBDC at UCF, which has encouraged me as I have grown AITC to achieve greater success.  I am truly grateful and honored to receive the award and represent the North District,” Says Ruiz.

Every year since 1963, the president of the United States has issued a proclamation calling for the celebration of National Small Business Week.  National Small Business Week is set as the first week in May, and this year its April 30 – May 6, with national events planned in Washington, D.C., New York City, Indianapolis, Dallas and Fresno, California.

AITC Brings Gifts on Three Kings Day

Donation Supports Operation Giveback’s (OGB) Christmas Project in
Support of Military Orphans

As part of its philanthropy outreach, AITC supports the mission of Operation Giveback (OGB), whose mission is to raise awareness and resources for America’s wounded warriors, their families and children of our fallen heroes.

In an effort to provide support for this mission, OGB facilitates events and special opportunities across the country to generate needed funding to help these members and their families, as an opportunity to “give back” from the community.

OGB trio photo 1On January 5th in Puerto Rico at Fort Buchanan, AITC President & CEO, Gabe Ruiz and his wife Sandra, CFO, presented a check to help provide Christmas gifts for military orphans identified in OGB’s program as part of the Three Kings Day annual celebration on the island.

“AITC is proud to support Operation Giveback’s efforts to help the children of our fallen heroes.  We recognize that our heroes have served our country with pride, distinction, and honor and in some cases paid the ultimate price.   It is our pleasure to present a financial donation to help purchase the gifts on the wish lists of these children.  While we cannot replace the ultimate sacrifice of losing their parent, we can in some small way, bring joy and hope to help make their holiday special this year,” says Ruiz, AITC’S President & CEO.

AITC Receives Additional U.S. Army Contracts – Adds Program Support for Intelligence Center of Excellence to Growing Contract Portfolio

Continuing to make headlines, AITC announced today that it has been awarded two new contracts to support the United States Army’s Intelligence Center of Excellence (ICoE) in Fort Huachuca, Arizona. The contracts, with a combined Period of Performance (POP) of five years, will focus on the development of Unit Tasks Lists (UTL) and Collective Tasks Lists (CTL) for the Theater Intelligence Brigade (TIB) and other military intelligence units, in support of the Chief of Staff of the Army’s (CSA) Initiative for Assessing and Reporting Training Readiness (ARTR). The TIB contract has four subject matter experts for a one-year data collection period and task analysis effort. The ARTR contract also has four subject matter experts for up to five years and will revise all military intelligence unit collective training tasks, create new tasks as required to comply with collective task standards and business rules established by the Chief of Staff of the Army.

This effort is being implemented with AITC’s strategic partner, Intelligence, Communications and Engineering (ICE), Inc., located in Sierra Vista, AZ. The work will be primarily based at Fort Huachuca, AZ, along with some efforts at the seven TIB’s located both inside and outside the continental U.S.

The contracts provide direct support to the U.S. Army’s Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) and the ICoE Training Development and Support Program based at Fort Huachuca.   The total value of both contracts over five years (if all options exercised) is $3.9 million.

“The Army’s intelligence community utilizes the latest technology and equipment, along with highly trained and skilled personnel to develop critical information and make operational decisions. AITC is proud to support this effort to advance the training and skill development that is central to future successful missions,” says Wells Barlow, AITC Business Development Manager.

AITC was awarded the contract based on several years of exceptional past performance in a similar capacity. These were part of the 10 new contracts received by AITC in the last two months with a combined value of more than $13 Million, building the company’s momentum after recently announcing the win of the $70 Million Army Medical Simulation Support Services (MS3) contract.

It is named in honor of Colonel Robert Kelly, a career intelligence officer who died in a helicopter crash in 1993.  He was inducted into the Intelligence Hall of fame in 1996 the same year the building was named in his honor.

US Army Awards AITC $70M Contract for Medical Simulation Support Services

The U.S. Army has just awarded Advanced IT Concepts (AITC) a contract valued at nearly $70 million for services over the next five years.   The Medical Simulation Support Services (MS3) contract will assist the U.S. Army Product Manager for Medical Simulation (PM MedSim) at the Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (PEO-STRI), in providing procurement and logistics services for medical-based simulation training.

The MS3 contract is a multiple award Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) type contract with one 12-month base ordering period and four 12-month ordering option periods.  It was awarded as part of the federal government’s small business set-aside program. The MS3 contract includes the logistics services for the procurement, receipt packaging and shipment of kits containing medical equipment and training materials necessary to conduct medical simulation-based training at multiple locations.  It will include commercial off-the-shelf equipment for training systems and/or procurement of medical supplies.

For more than a decade, AITC has been a leader in Information Technology Systems Integration and professional Services with a focus on the federal sector. Over the last four years, AITC has been providing the Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Simulation Learning, Education and Research Network (SimLEARN) with almost the exact services offered under MS3. In March 2016, AITC was awarded a new five-year VHA contract to continue supporting this critical mission.

“Winning MS3 represents a tremendous milestone for AITC and for our sub-contractor, General Dynamics Information Systems (GDIT).   This win solidifies AITC’s capabilities as an Army partner capable of achieving the complex implementation required for a successful training logistics operation,” says Gabriel Ruiz, AITC President & CEO.

AITC was awarded the contract based on an evaluation as the best-qualified contractor possessing the business practices and capabilities to meet or exceed the requirements largely due to several years of exceptional past performance in a similar capacity.

“For more than six years, AITC has supported PM MedSim by deploying IT solutions to Medical Simulation Training Centers (MSTC’s) and Training Labs around the globe. We are excited about this opportunity to expand our PM MedSim support,” says Ruiz.

In support of this contract and its logistics services expansion, AITC recently purchased a 12,300 square ft. warehouse in Longwood, FL to augment other existing facilities.  This investment helps to support AITC’s current programs, while increasing capacity for future growth.

“Although our company’s niche is Information Technology, four years ago we envisioned the possibility of branching out and creating a logistics division.  Our exceptional CPARS ratings over the years opened the door to other opportunities and follow-on contracts; and now…with MS3, that vision from four years ago has become a reality,” says Noel Pantoja, AITC’s VHA and MS3 Program Manager.

Veterans of Influence Recognizes Real-Life Super Heroes – Gabe Ruiz to Be Honored

AITC President & CEO, Gabriel Ruiz, LTC, USA (Ret.) has been selected as one of the Orlando Business Journal’s 2016 Veterans of Influence Award honorees.  Ruiz is among 25 distinguished community leaders to be honored at the awards luncheon event on Friday, September 30th at the Hilton, Orlando.

Veterans from every branch of service, and from every business sector, will be recognized during the Veterans of Influence Award luncheon event that will feature pre-recorded interviews, where honorees discuss their military service and how it aided their civilian-life success.

Honorees for the award were selected by an independent panel organized by the OBJ as having had the most dramatic impact on the community this past year.

What makes this group unique from other Orlando Business Journal events is that each of the honorees are Veterans who have served this great country as a member of the U.S. Armed Services.

Ruiz and the other honorees will be profiled by Orlando Business Journal on Friday, September 30th either online or in print.
